Sutton praises Imps' Smith

Lincoln City manager has praised Khano Smith on his impressive debut for Lincoln City and said he looked a "real threat".

Smith, 28, started the Imps' goalless draw against struggling Torquay United at Sincil Bank on Saturday and showed flashes of promise with his pace and eye for goal.

Sutton said he had high hopes for Smith who played 76 minutes before being subtituted.

"I thought Khano did decently," Sutton said. "He hasn't played for a long time and he was a threat for us. The new-boy came in and did well for us.

"He flew back in after spending some time in the US sorting out some issues and hasn't trained all week, and he looked a threat."

The former New York Red Bulls' winger signed a short-term contract at the League Two team until January earlier this month.
