The reinstatement was revealed last night by Bermuda Industrial Union president Mr. Ottiwell Simmons.

Mr. Simmons said the maintenance man would also receive back pay.

"I don't have all the details of the settlement, but I can tell you work will resume as normal tomorrow.'' Today buses will be running normally after two days of talks to find a resolution finally paid off.

Bus drivers and mechanics began an overtime ban one week ago, protesting that their colleague was unjustifiably sacked for allegedly fighting on PTB premises. At one stage the work-to-rule meant 48 out of the 106-strong bus fleet were off the road and no buses ran on Monday because a public holiday constituted overtime. Tourist sight-seeing buses were also affected.

Both sides were brought together by Assistant Labour Relations Officer, Mr.

Thaddeus Hollis, who said yesterday: "The matter has been resolved.

Everything is now back to normal and the overtime ban has finished.

"The dispute has been resolved to the satisfaction of both parties, who agreed to keep the terms of the settlement private.'' Public Transportation Board director Mr. Herman Basden could not be reached for comment last night.
