Tomorrow is deadline for Charman Prize competition

By Nancy Acton

Artists are reminded that tomorrow, January 11, is the deadline to submit applications for the Charman Prize, a new, annual art competition at the Masterworks Museum of Bermuda Arts, with a $10,000 prize attached, thanks to the generosity of businessman and Bermuda resident John Charman.

The relevant application form is available on website www.bermudamasterworks.com.

The Charman Prize competition is open to all Bermudian artists resident on the Island, as well as non-Bermudians who have been resident in Bermuda for at least six months prior to the entry deadline.

Entries will be juried by a panel of local and overseas judges whose names will be announced at a later date.

The entries will be displayed in the Rick Faries Gallery in the new Masterworks Museum of Bermuda Art, thus providing an opportunity for local artists to showcase their works during the opening of Bermuda's first ever, purpose-built museum in March 2008.
