China summit cost $75,000
The Department of Tourism spent $75,000 sponsoring the World Tourism Summit in China. The three-day event was held in Beijing and was attended by hundreds of travel and tourism industry leaders from 24 nations around the world. Visitor spending up by $34% last autumn

Breaking News: Third quarter visitor arrivals down
Visitor arrivals to Bermuda fell 22 percent between July and September of 2008 following a sharp decline in cruise ship visits. Breaking News: St. Regis five-star hotel for Par-la-Ville::

Premier ‘excited’ by increase in visitors
Premier Ewart Brown last night declared himself “excited” by the increased number of tourists who visited the Island in 2006. The Government’s latest Quarterly Bulletin of Statistics reveals that the amount of visitors rose by almost a quarter compared to 2005, as reported in The Royal Gazette yesterday. Air arrivals in the final quarter of the year increased by 14 percent to 62,291 with those visitors spending $80 million on the Island.
